I represent Roseta Flores, a free parda woman born in Louisiana. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 30 years old. I worked as a laundress and lived with Ygnacio Flores, a Spaniard. It is likely we were living as husband and wife (the Spanish did not have the same social taboos against this as the Anglo-Americans), and I may have used his surname.
