I represent Mathew Hannah. I was born in England in 1788. A letter I wrote my brother in 1819 reveals I was in Pensacola as early as 1811, but it appears I traveled to New Orleans, Mobile, and Havana as well, as I instruct my brother that he can send letters to those places and they will be received. It is possible I was not listed in the 1820 census of Pensacola because I was in one of these places at the time. In 1822, I married Sarah Putney of Baldwin County, Alabama. In 1823, I am in The Floridian newspaper as the city tax collector.
