I represent Cary Nicholas. I was born in Virginia in 1786. I resigned from the army as a major and came to Pensacola. I was one of the first publishers of The Floridian, Pensacola’s newspaper – which was supposed to come out as soon as the flags changed, but our printing equipment was delayed. I also practiced law and became the city’s first U.S. postmaster.
Major Cary Nicholas J.P.
