John (Serra)

I represent John, an enslaved negro man in the household of Don Ygnacio and Doña Maria Madalena Serra. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, Don Ygnacio was 60 years old and married to Doña Maria Serra. They had four children. He made his living as a civil servant in the Spanish government. In 1823, the widow Serra sold me to Jose Ortiz for $480.50.
