I represent Carlos Reggio, Lieutenant of the Infantry Regiment of Louisiana and secretary to the Governor General of Spanish Florida. At the time of the changing of the flags in 1821, I would have been about 40 years old. Along with Jose Ygnacio Cruzat, I certified the 1820 census of Pensacola, though I do not appear to have counted myself in it. I was born in Louisiana and quick review of genealogical records finds that my family was centered around New Orleans; it may be that the Pensacola census was an assignment for me and I considered myself a resident of New Orleans.
