I represent Charles Evans, a blanco man born in North Carolina. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 18 years old. I lived in the household of my mother, the widow Doña Julia Bird, along with my sister, Winifred Evans. We were a farming family. I served as a judge of Escambia County and twice as Mayor of Pensacola. We are all three buried in the same plot in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
