I represent Domingo Recio, a European man born in Genoa, Italy around 1764. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 56 years old and worked as a billiard parlor keeper. I shared my household with Maria Luisa, a free negra woman who worked as a laundress, and our two children. Maria Luisa and our son, Domingo Salvador, were previously enslaved in my household; I freed Domingo Salvador at his 1809 baptism in New Orleans. Presumably I freed Maria Luisa as well at some point after that, though that record has not yet been found.
