I represent Don Francisco Gonzalez, a blanco boy born in Pensacola. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 1 year old. My parents were Don Juan Gonzalez and his wife, Doña Josefa GonzaIes. My grandfather was the rancher Manuel Gonzalez, a Spaniard, and our house outside of town was where General Andrew Jackson and his troops camped when he first arrived in the area. Our household was large and consisted of my grandparents and their nine children, including one other who was married and had a small child.
