Doña Josefa Hernandez

Photo representing Doña Josefa Hernandez

I represent Doña Josefa Hernandez, a blanca girl born in Pensacola. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 7 years old. I lived with my parents: Don Gabriel Hernandez, a farmer, and Doña Francisca Madrid Hernandez. I had two siblings. Later in life, I married William McVoy, Jr. I am buried in St. Michael’s cemetery.
