I represent Doña Rebecca Hardaway Murrell, a blanca woman born in Virginia in 1777. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 40 years old and a widow; my late husband, John Murrell, having died in 1810. I and my son Joseph E. Murrell lived with my daughter, Doña Maria Murrell del Bario, her husband, Don Manuel del Bario, and her two young children. Don Manuel was a sailor from Basque Country in Spain. My son and I eventually moved to Mobile, where my son and grandsons became successful businessmen. I died in 1854 and am buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile.
