Doña Victoria Gagnet

Photo representing Doña Victoria Gagnet

I represent Doña Victoria Gagnet (also spelled Gañe), a blanca woman born in Pensacola. I was confirmed in Pensacola on May 7, 1798, by the Bishop of Louisiana and the Floridas, Rev. Luis Peñalver y Cardenas.

At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 24 years old, and single. I lived in the household of my mother, Doña Maria Felicita Lavalle Gagnet (widow of Luis Gagnet), and my two adult siblings.

My burial appears in the records of St. Michael’s parish: August 30, 1864; I died in Greenville, AL
