I represent Maria Felicitas Barbeau Boisdore Guillemard, a blanca woman born in New Orleans in 1760. My parents were Louis (master surgeon born at Ft. Conde in Mobile) and Marguerite Doussin, native of Mobile. I married Gilbert Guillemard, born in Longuy, France, in New Orleans in 1787. Gilbert was former sergeant major of New Orleans under the Spanish and served as brevetted lieutenant colonel of the royal armies in Pensacola. Gilbert died in 1808 at the age of 64, so at the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 53 years old and widowed. I lived in a household with a 7-year-old boy named Arnaldo Gray, whose relationship to me is unclear. My son, Don Arnauld Guillemard, was a Spanish officer. You may have seen our last name on a street in downtown Pensacola.
