Francisco Llopis

I represent Francisco Llopis, a European man born in Cataluña, Spain. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 30 years old and a pulpero, which can be translated as grocer or tavernkeeper. I shared a household with Maria Francisca, a free negra woman born in Africa. It is likely we were living as husband and wife (the Spanish did not have the same social taboos against this as the Anglo-Americans).
