I represent Genoveva, an enslaved negra woman in the household of Jose Noriega, Jr. I appear in the confirmation records of my children, Antonia Mariana and Francisco, in Pensacola on May 7, 1798. I was listed in Victoire LeSassier’s 1830 complaint of divorce from Don Pedro de Alba as being a cook; I was 45 years old, though this probably referred to my age in 1813, when the late Don Jose Noriega’s property was divided between Victoire and her son.
