John Joseph Jones Cobb

I represent John Joseph Jones Cobb; I went by Jones. I was born about 1784 in Georgia. My parents were the elder Ezekiel and Elizabeth Patience Jones Cobb (for whom I am named). My mother died in Escambia County in 1805, so my family had a long history in this place. I had a large extended family, but not much is known about me. I appear on the 1824 list of West Florida land claimants, indicating I had lived on and cultivated land between 1819 and 1821. I married a woman named Catherine, and then Rebecca Harriet Robinson in 1832. Only one son, from the first marriage, is known. I died around 1851 in Florida.
