I represent John V. Garnier. I was appointed a justice of the county court of Escambia County by General Andrew Jackson in the new American government of the territory. By August 25, just over a month after the changing of the flags, I had set up as an auctioneer. My gravestone in St. Michael’s calls me “a native of France,” aged 81 when I died, though there is no date of death.
John V. Garnier J.P.
