I represent Captain Joseph Shomo. I was born in Pennsylvania and served in the army from 1812 until I resigned in 1820. In 1821, I was married to Rosannah Weatherford, sister of the famous Creek chieftain William Weatherford (known as “Red Eagle”). I lived in Baldwin County, Alabama, though early editions of The Floridian show me selling real estate I owned in Pensacola. I would later move to Monroe County and then to Pensacola. I died in 1853 at the age of 68.
