Lucy (Clark)

I represent Lucy, an enslaved negra woman in the household of Oliver Clark. I was named in an 1822 Deed in which I was sold to Master Mariner Robert Edes of Massachusetts, with the stipulation that I might be purchased back for the same price within 3 years. The deed stated I was about 40 years old. Oliver Clark later sold me to George Barkley, so he apparently did buy me back at some point.
