I represent Margarita Dalmacio, a free negra woman born in Louisiana. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 45 years old and living with a teenaged parda girl who was probably my daughter, and another free negra woman whose relationship is unclear. In 1804, I was granted land by the Spanish Crown – Lot 74, on the northwest corner of Zaragossa and Spring Streets.
