I represent Margarita, a negra woman enslaved in the household of Don Pedro de Alba, Sr. I was mentioned in the 1819 case of F.T. Commyns vs. E. Latady in a listing of the property he gave to his son on the eve of his son’s marriage to Constance de Tala, and returned by Constance de Tala before the will was made. I was nine years old at the time of the gift. I was listed in the 1835 will of Don Pedro de Alba, among the property bequeathed to his granddaughter, Angelica.
