I represent Maria Marta Theresa Parigini Touart, a blanca woman born in New Orleans in 1803. My parents were Domingo, a native of Milan in Lombardy and a militia sergeant; and Marzela de Lara, native of Orotava on Tenerife, Canary Islands. On April 3, 1820 at St. Michael’s in Pensacola, I became the second wife of Francisco Touart, of Navarre, France. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 17 years old. Francisco made his living as a tailor, and we lived with his two sons from his first marriage to Susanna McVoy.
