I represent the unnamed “female servant” of Euphrasie Suchet Lavisson, who arrived in Pensacola with me in September of 1820 from Havana. In an 1828 instrument to secure her debt, Euphrasie recounted how she had come to Pensacola, newly widowed and without the means to pay the passage for her two children and female servant. The 1830 census indicates I might have been anywhere between 26 and 45 years old in 1821. In 1830, Euphrasie sold a 9-year-old negra girl named Marie Louise to Celestino Gonzalez; this may have been my daughter. I do not appear in Euphrasie’s household in the 1840 census.
