I represent Colonel William Barnett. I was born in 1761 in Amherst County, Virginia, but spent much of my early life in Georgia. I was a Revolutionary War veteran and former member of Congress from Georgia. After my term ended, I was assigned to help determine the boundaries of Creek Territory in Alabama. I was among those appointed by General Andrew Jackson to serve as alderman in the new American city government. I was quite friendly with the old residents of Spanish Pensacola, which put me on Jackson’s bad side.
