I represent Celeste Tala de Villiers, a blanca woman born in 1786 in New Orleans. I was the daughter of Jean Tala (native of Alicante, Spain, chief accountant for the Louisiana Regiment) and Charlotte LeSassier, and sister of Constancia Tala de Alba. I was married to Lt. Carlos de Villiers, an officer of the Spanish military. In the 1850 census of Pensacola, Celeste and I were both widowed and shared a household.
