Juana (Commyns)

Child silhouetteRepresent this individual

I represent Juana, an enslaved negra girl in the household of Thomas Commyns the elder. He passed away in 1819 and I was not sold by the Executor of his estate, his son Thomas Commyns, until 1824. At the time of the changing of the flags, I would have been about 8 years old.
