I represent Ann Corpe Campbell. According to family records, I came here with my husband, John Campbell, who returned to West Florida after seeing it during his Royal Navy service in the War of 1812. In 1821 we had two children: Ann and Emily – Emily was the first child born in Florida after it became an American territory. John owned a schooner that ran supplies from Mobile and New Orleans to Pensacola, and was also involved in the lumber industry in Conecuh County, Alabama. He would later serve as a Pensacola alderman and was founding member of Christ Church. I am buried in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
