I represent Baptiste Bernardo Petit. I am mentioned in several Escambia County deeds regarding my pardo children and in the records of their baptisms as being the son of Adelaide Petit. I do not appear to be listed in her household in the 1820 census, though I had four children by an enslaved woman named Gertrude who was owned by my mother.
