Bautista (Mendoza)

I represent Bautista, an enslaved negro man in the household of Pedro Mendoza. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, Pedro Mendoza was 43 years old and was a pulpero, which can be translated as grocer or tavernkeeper. He was married to Rosalie de Cordova Mendoza and they had two children. Also in the household was a young enslaved boy named Juanillo.
