I represent Carlos Giran, a free pardo man born in Mobile. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 18 years old and living in the household of Adelaide Petit (called Delaida Suriac in the 1820 census), a free woman of color. Also in our household were Adelaide’s children and a pardo man who worked as a tailor, but the relationships in this household are not fully explained.
