I represent Henry Duvivier Peire. I was from Louisiana and a veteran of the War of 1812. I was awarded the rank of brevet Lt. Colonel in 1814 for gallant conduct in the first battle of New Orleans, and honorably discharged in 1815. In July 1821, I was appointed alguazil, or sheriff, of Escambia County by General Andrew Jackson in the new American government. I died in 1848, leaving my widow, Louise Peychaud Peire.
