I represent Don Juan Gonzalez, a blanco man born in New Orleans. My parents were Luis and Antonia de Torres Gonzalez.
I married Josefa Gonzalez on May 5, 1820 at St. Michael’s in Pensacola. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 20 years old. Josefa and I had one child. I was a son-in-law of the rancher Manuel Gonzalez, a Spaniard, and our house outside of town was where General Andrew Jackson and his troops camped when he first arrived in the area. Our household was large and consisted of my in-laws and their 9 children, including one other besides Josefa who was married and had a small child.
