I represent Don Juan de la Rua, a blanco man born in Pensacola. I owned the tract of land that would later become the site of Arcadia Mill in Santa Rosa County and was in the process of developing it, though I would later sell it. I also was part owner of the Tivoli House. in 1822, I served as Mayor of Pensacola.
At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 31 years old and a local merchant. I was married to Doña Margarita Bonifay de la Rua and we had two daughters living with us. Also in our household were a free negra woman and another single blanca woman whose relationship to us is unclear.
