I represent Don Sebastian Caro, a blanco man born in Pensacola. My parents were Benito and Maria Machado Caro. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was a local merchant, 26 years old and living with my widowed mother and four siblings. Between the census and the changing of the flags, though, I married Doña Antonia de la Rua, on April 20, 1821, at St. Michael’s.
