I represent Doña Petrona de la Rua, a blanca girl born in Pensacola around 1813. My parents were Francisco de la Rua of Madrid, and Josefa Suarez Falcon de la Rua, of the city of Tirajana in the Canary Islands.
At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 7 years old, living in a household with my widowed mother and four siblings. I married James Joaquin Gonzalez on November 17, 1834. I died August 12, 1851 and am buried in St. Michael’s cemetery.
