I represent Doña Juana Nepomuceno Rosalia Perez Gomez Garriga (called Rosalia), a blanca woman born in New Orleans in 1783. My parents were Francisco Perez, a native of Seville, Spain and a 1st Sergeant in the Louisiana Regiment; and Catalina Formayor of New Orleans.
I married Francisco Gomez, a native of Gierre in Catalonia, Spain, in New Orleans in 1801.
At the time of the 1820 census in Penscola, I was 37 years old and widowed, living with my adult son, Francisco, who made his living as a farmer.
Between the census and the changing of the flags, I married again: Fidel Garriga, on December 21, 1820 at St. Michael’s parish.
