I represent Eusebio, an enslaved negro man in the household of Doña Maria Machado, the widow Caro. She was a European woman born in the Canary Islands. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, she was 48 years old, and lived with her 5 children. Her late husband was Don Benito Caro. In 1823, she sold me to her son, Joseph E. Caro for $425, and in 1824, he sold me to Jacques Sorbies for $450.
