Jose (Vilaseca)

I represent Jose, a young man of color born and enslaved in the household of Don Tomas Vilaseca. My mother was Julia, an enslaved woman in the same household. In 1829, I was sold, along with my mother and three brothers, to Francisco Bobe for a total of $2,000. I was described as a mulatto boy about 21 years old who was born in the house of Tomas Vilaseca.
