Lysa (Commyns)

I represent Lysa, an enslaved young negra woman in the household of Thomas Commyns the elder. He passed away in 1819 and I was not sold by the Executor of his estate, his son Thomas Commyns, until 1824 – when he sold me to his brother, Francisco. At the time of the changing of the flags, I would have been about 19 years old. In 1827, Francisco Commyns sold me back to Thomas for $475.
