I represent Maria Garcia Sausa, a blanca woman born in New Orleans in 1775. My parents were Julian (native of El Morillo in Castilla, Spain) and Mariana Tonnellier of New Orleans. In 1794 I became the second wife of Jose Domingo Sausa, a Spanish officer in the Louisiana Regiment. At the time of the 1820 census, I was 48 years old and Domingo was clerk to the Spanish governor Jose Callava. We had five children.
