I represent Maria Ynes Gonzales de Zalas, a blanca woman born in Pensacola around 1789. My parents were Manuel and Maria Gonzales. I married Alfonso de Zalas of Osuna, Spain, on May 7, 1816 at St. Michael’s in Pensacola.
At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 31 years old. Alfonso made his living as a shopkeeper and we had two children. Also sharing our household was a widow and her adult son; their relationship to us is unclear.
