I represent Ysabel Bertrand, a free parda girl born in Pensacola in 1819. My parents were the free pardos Gabriel and Maria del los Dolores Barcelo Bertand. I was baptized by Father Coleman at St. Michael’s in 1819. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 1 year old and had a big brother.
