I represent Ysabel, a negra girl enslaved in the household of Doña Carlota Constanza de Grand Pré, the widow Gayarre. I was baptized by Father Coleman at St. Michael’s on June 30, 1821, at which time my age was estimated at about 11 years old. There is no information on my parents or where I came from.
