I represent Doña Josefa de la Rua, a blanca girl born in Pensacola. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 9 years old. I lived with my father, Don Juan de la Rua, a local merchant; my mother, Doña Margarita Bonifay de la Rua; my little sister; a free negra woman and another single blanca woman whose relationship to us is unclear. I later married B.D. Wright. I am buried in St. Michael’s cemetery.
