Genoveva Ham

Photo representing Genoveva Ham

Represented by Ruth Rigby

I represent Genoveva Ham, a free parda woman born in Mobile. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 50 years old and working as a seamstress. I lived in a household with Gertrudis Alba, a free parda woman, and her son; and Mariana Alba, a free negra woman. The relationship among the people in the household is not specified. My gravestone in St. Michael’s says I lived to 102 years old, but the math doesn’t quite work out with the age given in the 1820 census.
