I represent Catherine Blair King. I was born in 1793 in Easton, Maryland. I came to Pensacola when my husband, Col. William King, was appointed by General Andrew Jackson as the U.S. military governor of West Florida in 1818. Our family stayed in the area, though Col. King was retired from the military and died in 1826. I died in 1859 and am buried in St. Michael’s cemetery.
