Celeste (Philibert)

I represent Celeste, a mulata woman enslaved in the household of Don Pedro Philibert. I appear in my son’s 1821 baptismal record from St. Michael’s. Francisco was born into slavery by virtue of my enslaved status, and his father is not mentioned, which usually means the man either did not want, or was unable, to acknowledge the child.
