I represent Colonel John Miller. I was appointed Clerk of the Escambia County Court by General Andrew Jackson in July 1821 in the new American government. In October of 1821, I succeeded George Bowie as mayor. My 1826 obituary in the Pensacola Gazette says I had come to Pensacola for my health as I had been suffering from a pulmonary complaint. I was about 58 years old when I died.
Col. John Miller
