Doña Amelia Christin Noriega

Photo representing Doña Amelia Christin Noriega

Represented by Lisa M. Daugherty

I represent Doña Amelia Christin Noriega, a blanca woman born in Pensacola around 1798. My parents were Luis and Rosa LeSassier. I married Jose Noriega in 1816 at St. Michael’s parish in Pensacola.

At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 22 years old and Jose was a farmer. We shared our household with my brother, Don Fernando Christin. My husband was the son of Doña Victoire LeSassier de Alba and her first husband; I was Victoire LeSassier’s niece. Victoire left most of her estate to me in her 1833 will.
