I represent Doña Josefa Philibert Rocheblave, a blanca woman born in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, in 1802. My parents were Pedro Philibert, born in Lorraine, France; and Maria Luisa Martin y Dainesse (also spelled Denes) of New Orleans. I married Francisco Rocheblave at St. Michael’s in Pensacola on August 11, 1818. At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 18 years old. Francisco and I lived on my family’s farm with my parents and three of my siblings, one other of whom was married.
