I represent Dorothy Camber Walton. I was born in Savannah, Georgia and married George Walton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. After my husband died, I moved to Pensacola where my son had been appointed to a post in the new American government of West Florida. I purchased the house now known as the Dorothy Walton House at 137 W. Romana Street, where my son and I entertained Andrew Jackson. I died in 1832 and am buried in St. Michael’s Cemetery. This short paragraph does little justice to my colorful life; I invite you to research me further.
